Mabuhay! This is our warm Filipino welcome greeting to visitors, it is an exhortation: “May you live well and happily!” When you come to think of it, isn’t this the end-goal of development that all us here today advocate – the happiness and well-being of the people we serve as development financing institutions of our respective countries?
We at the Development Bank of the Philippines are truly delighted to co-host this year’s CEO Forum of the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific, together with our “sister bank,” Land Bank of the Philippines.
Mabuhay and welcome to the Philippines for the 11th International Forum for Chief Executives of Development Finance Institutions.
It's been six years since we last hosted this annual CEO forum, and it comes in the same year when the country is also host to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum. These two major events are a welcome opportunity for us to network and synergize with our neighbour countries as we advance towards convergence in line with the ASEAN integration.
